Why our tallow isn’t organic — and why that’s a good thing

We don’t source our tallow from “organic” farms — we go beyond that.

Our tallow comes from 100% grass-fed Highland cattle that live year-round in Dutch nature reserves. These animals are never dehorned, never artificially inseminated, and they never see the inside of a barn. They’re naturally weather-resistant, shedding their thick winter coats in summer, and thriving outdoors in every season.

They graze only on wild grasses and herbs, raise their calves in family herds, and are never fed grains or given antibiotics.

While organic meat still allows for stables, grain feeding, early calf separation and even dehorning, the Highland cows we work with live in a way that’s far more natural — and therefore far healthier.
